The House GOP mess threatens aid to Ukraine in it’s fight against Russian aggression. Ukraine’s forces have taken back almost half the land Vlad Putin‘s army invaded in an attempt to overrun the country (BBC). To back out on them now would be unforgivable and cowardly.

Just as the “Chaos Caucus” led by Matt Gaetz, assisted by strategically challenged democrats, was able to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy; Hamas struck. Raping and murdering their was into Israel Ismael Haniyeh‘s Derliwangers created the perfect diversion. Funding for the defenders has been in danger ever since. Phil (says he was Rommel but wasn’t) and Co is more encouraged about their war on Ukraine.

While congressman squabble Ukraine’s forces dig in to hold the gains they’ve made. Winter is upon them and Russia will probably resort to bombing civilians and Ukraine’s energy grid to cut them off from heat. The dysfunctional GOP is now arguing about immigration funding tied to the bill (CNN). The budget was hashed out at the beginning of the year. The repeat, and complete waste of time, posturing over finances now is redundant and immature.

Is the US going to appear weak in the face of tyranny? Are we going to buckle and let Vlad outlast our support for democracy? Are we going to send a message to other dictators that the US will no longer oppose their aggression?

The world, and US voters, are going to remember this GOP debacle if Ukraine gets overrun by Russia.
