Former president and aspiring president for life Donald Trump stuck his golden Nike right in his big mouth. The Big T compared his legal woes to the plight of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny who died one of Vlad Putin‘s penal colonies (CNN).
This is the same Donald Trump that has been encouraging his proxy representative Matt Gaetz‘s efforts to sabotage US assistance to Ukraine’s struggle against the imperialistic ambitions of Putin. You may remember Russian forces invaded Ukraine in February of 2022.
The house GOPers have been gaming the system to prevent US aid, approved in 2023, from reaching Ukraine. I guess all Phil (calls himself Rommel but wasn’t) needs now is another distraction, possibly from the Houthis or Hezbollah. This way people won’t notice Mike Johnson let the House of Reps go on a 2 week vacation while Russian forces try to capitalize on Ukraine’s ammunition shortage. It must be nice to have puppets planted deep within the state.
Trump’s legal problems stem from his shifty business methods, specifically lying about his assets to secure financing (BBC). Trump will also be in court facing accusations of violating voter rights in an attempt to overturn the 2020 elections (Reuters).
Putin seems to be eliminating people he doesn’t like in true tyrannical form. A Russian helicopter pilot, Maksym Kuzminov, who defected to Ukraine was found riddled with bullet holes in Spain (Business Insider). Ksenia Karelina, a Russian American ballerina from LA was arrested in Russia (Daily Mail). She donated $50 to Ukrainian aid company and has been charged with high treason. She was led into the kangaroo court blindfolded (YouTube).
Trump comparing the US legal system to that of Russia is pathetic anti-American posturing. Particularly while he encourages attempts to destroy our relationship with NATO allies and refuses assistance to those fighting tyranny.
