Joe Biden stumbled over a few words during the first presidential debate. I guess that scares some people more than the false claims made by his opponent Donald Trump. It’s difficult to say what is going on with Biden. However, he has been a hardworking and steadfast leader since taking office.
Biden gives speeches on a daily basis and his performances have been just fine. Having a bad day once in a while is not a basis to pull support from the man. FDR was dying while president, leading the Free World through World War II. He did, in fact, pass away before the war was over. Biden is one of the most experienced politicians in the country.
On the other hand, the Donald didn’t serve, yet criticized former senator John McCain over his service, even mocking his disability (Wikipedia). He also mocked US service members who died defending the world against fascism (The Atlantic); imagine that.
Trump has zero experience as a politician save his ill gotten term as president, and it showed. He seems to have learned his political strategy by studying populist political leaders from the past. Populists are, and are backed by, wealthy educated men. Yet they denigrate the “wealthy elite.” Go figure. This is a dishonest appeal to the lower classes in society that ends in disaster.
Trump’s admiration, friendship with and support of Russian President for life Vladimir Putin is also distressing. Putin represents the polar opposite of what the United States stands for. That Trump would help his efforts in Ukraine with ally Matt Gaetz should be enough to eliminate him as a choice for president in the minds of patriots.
