National Security

In lieu of the new understanding people are gaining about the relationship between US president for life hopeful Donald Trump and Russian President for Life Vladimir Putin, I thought it fitting to re-post the following from July 26, 2024. Yesterday’s post deals with the same topic. Should we start to consider the threat to US national security Trump, Vance and Elon Musk pose? I think we should.

Today it was announced the US ceased cyber operations against Russia at the behest of the new administration (CNN).

There’s a long history of white supremacist movements in the Pacific Northwest of the US. An example is The Order or The Silent Brotherhood (Wikipedia) a group founded in Metaline WA by Robert Jay Matthews in 1983. This organization of Neo Nazis wanted to start a race war to rid the US of blacks, Jews and people of mixed race. Matthews was killed on Whidbey Island in 1984 during a standoff with police. He was wanted in connection to the murder of Alan Berg, a Jewish radio host in Denver CO.

The Interesting Case of Charles (Manson)

The Aryan Nations were founded in 1970 by Richard Butler based on the teachings of Wesley A Swift, a California white supremacist preacher. Aryan nations was based in Kootenai County ID. The group’s security assaulted a woman and her son who were of indigenous descent in 1998. The subsequent lawsuit caused Butler to declare bankruptcy and shut down the operation (Coeur d’Alene Press).

Some Things Never Change

Two of the biggest donors to the Aryan Nations were Carl Story and Vincent Bertolini, two computer technology entrepreneurs that made their riches in the early days of the Silicon Valley (anti defamation league). Although they reportedly donated about $1M to the group many believe the amount to be much higher. Bertolini now runs the 11th Hour Remnant Messenger and is the author of “It’s the Jews Stupid!: Who and What These Evil Vipers Are!.”

The two men (Story and Starek) were convicted in 1977 for conspiracy to violate federal export laws in the sale of $900,000 worth of semiconductor manufacturing equipment to the Soviet Union. The indictment charged that equipment used to build missile guidance systems was sold through fictitious companies in the United States, Canada, Switzerland and Germany and falsely invoiced as commercial washing machines and industrial ovens. Story and Starek each were fined $10,000. The LA Times

Only $10K?????? Nuclear Secrets and the Big Firebug

Now it seems there is a resurgence of White Supremacist organizations in the NW, but they’ve probably just been lying low for a while.
