South African super rich guy Elon Musk has announced he’s going to start a new political party. He’s going to call it the America Party (Time). He and his former buddy US President for Life hopeful Donald Trump had a falling out over the Big Ugly Bill.
For all his flaws Musk is an intelligent man. It’s hard to believe that he figured out the Big Ugly Bill was a bad idea just the other day. He can do math.
The al-Nusra Front and Jabhat Fateh led by Ahmed al-Sharaa ousted Bashir al-Assad and his Ba’athists, becoming the de facto government in Syria. The successful takeover was easy; too easy. On Dec 8, 2024 Assad high tailed it to live in Russia as a guest of Vladimir Putin and his government collapsed.
Since then the new Syrian government forces and associated militias have been attacking and killing Alawites, Sunni and Christian minority groups. Al-Sharaa has denied responsibility and claimed little control over the militant groups in the war torn nation.
US President for Life hopeful Donald Trump thinks al-Sharaa is an “attractive young man.”
Al-Sharaa was an al-Queda operative. He initially traveled to Syria after being released from a US prison in Iraq to begin an al-Queda presence and ended up miraculously taking over the revolution. The original revolutionary movement led by the US backed Free Syria Army was kicked to the curb.
Under al-Shara’a’s leadership, al-Nusra Front and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham perpetrated a series of war crimes, suicide bombings, forced conversions, ethnic cleansing and sectarian massacres against Syria’s Christian, Alawite, Shia and Druze minorities. These included the January 2012 al-Midan bombing, which killed 26 people and wounded 63. In 2015, al-Nusra fighters killed Druze villagers during the Qalb Loze massacre. Wikipedia
