Capitalizing on the West’s one sided coverage of the Gaza conflict and intent to impose their own solution to the Palestinian Question, Otzma Yehudit settler and Knesset member Bezazel Smotrich has made a public push to increase Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

Smotrich stated he believes new settlements will “bury the idea of a Palestinian state.” This provocative move is a great way to further sabotage Israeli efforts at finishing off Hamas terrorists and ending the current conflict. It’s another “oh shit” move stemming from the realization the current stagnant situation causing starvation in Gaza that forces Israel to play the terrorist politics game might come to an end. It’s another attempt to tarnish Israels image on the world stage and encourage anti Semitism worldwide.

Alienating the Palestinian Authority and moderate Palestinians opposed to Hamas with more settlements at a time when Hamas is the biggest problem is also sabotage. Otzma Yehudit and it’s reactionary extremism is not productive.
