Above; Trump having a Phil moment
According to a recent Gallup Poll 66% of US citizens want their nation to play a leading or major role in world politics. The protection and expansion of human rights and democracy in the world has largely relied on the US, particularly during the Cold War and World War II.
One of the major reasons the Nazi man gods think they lost World War II is the US role. They want nothing more than to sabotage our nation. Authoritarianism, no matter what label it has on it, is their thing.
What US president Donald Trump does and says are not often the same thing. His “America First” slogan is really a rebranding of isolationism. If the US had maintained this policy in WWII the geopolitics would be quite different today; something to consider.
What has made the US formidable on the world stage is her network of alliances. US allies have been economically and therefore militarily strong. Donald Trump has been out to destroy our alliances with his rhetoric and unilateral economic actions.
Trump applied tariffs to allied nations like Japan (AP News). While blustering about tariffs on China he has continuously made concessions (New York Times). News Alert! Trump has no intention of applying tariffs to his buddy PRC Secretary of the Communist Party and President for Life Xi Jinpeng and never did. Xi is pretty sure Trump won’t stand up for Taiwan either which encourages the former.
Similarly Trump has continuously attempted to screw Ukraine and NATO in favor of his buddy, former KGB agent and Russian President for Life Vladimir Putin. His first attempt to defund Ukraine was during his first term and Congress forced him send the aid. The second attempt was with his buddy Matt Gaetz on 4 Oct 2023 when he and his caucus aligned with the democrats (whatever possessed them) to oust speaker McCarthy. He was replaced with Mike Johnson. This resulted in Ukraine aid being cut for about 6 months; during the middle of a successful offensive operation that was driving back the Russians.
Now Trump and Vlad are trying to pull a fast one and con Ukraine into capitulation. Trump and Vlad want an actual required reduction in the size of Ukraine’s forces. Capitulation of land US think tanks say Vlad would spend years to gain (ISW) is also part of Trump’s great peace plan. Russia will re-invade once Vlad has time to rebuild his army.
Trump’s rhetoric about taking over Canada and Iceland (Denmark) are meant to push those nations governments away from alignment with the US. Trump’s rhetoric against and efforts to stop funding NATO have the same purpose. Trump’s attacks on Venezuelan boats will ensure Venezuelans will never support the US even if Nicolas Maduro is ousted by the Venezuelan opposition. Venezuela sells most of it’s oil to China.
It’s time to take stock of Trump and his true loyalties. Is he a weak president encouraging aggression from authoritarian nations? Is he an authoritarian himself; helping to create an authoritarian world order?
