Frame Your Own Loss; What Genius!

Vice President JD Vance said the reason the Republicans were trounced so hard in the 2026 midterm elections was the ongoing US War with Iran. US President and lover of Dictators Donald Trump claims the Iran War was a factor in the poor showing of Republican candidates during the midterm election.

Alice Weidel of Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD), a far right nationalist party promoted by Elon Musk and aligned with Trump, said “Trump had promised his voters not to pursue an interventionist foreign policy … This broken promise has now come back to haunt the Republicans,”

Jordan Bardella, leader of France’s National Rally, said “American intervention regarding Iran carries very heavy consequences.” National Rally is a French far right nationalist party also aligned with Trump.

Rupert Lowe, leader of the far-right Restore Britain party, also blamed the US war with Iran for the Republicans’ defeat. He commented the attack has achieved nothing of worth.

According to Trump and all his far right allies, the war with Iran was the downfall of the Republican held congress. That’s pretty handy considering the whole affair with Iran was designed to fail. Trump and his man god have been looking for a scapegoat to blame for getting out of the conflict.

The idea was to shut down the Iranian protest movement, save the ruling Theocracy and have a fake regime change – just like Venezuela. He’s had to keep riding this thing to play that off. The scapegoat is going to be the Democratic Congress that hasn’t even taken it’s seats yet. This is how eager the Magas are to slime their way out of the war without admitting their true intent. The only other way would be for them to admit incompetence and let Pete Hegseth take the heat.

The Iranian leadership claims the election is a voter mandate against the US War with Iran and claims Trump must heed the voters or “face a nightmare.”

The right wing is framing their midterm loss on Trump’s war with Iran. How true is this frame?

According to Pew Research the top issue voters cited in a poll was the economy; foreign policy concerns rated 6th place. Pew Research Center

In a poll conducted by CNBC corruption ranked first place followed by the economy.

According to a Gallup Poll voter concerns about the economy lead with healthcare behind it and the war with Iran in third place.

A Deseret News/Hinckley Institute of Politics found voter concerns about affordability (ie the economy) was the most important issue. Inflation was second and corruption third in the poll.

JD Vance came out opposed to the attacks on Iran in the beginning. This is remarkable considering the way the Republicans, including Vance, march lockstep with Trump no matter how ridiculous he seems.

Vance “was, I’d say, philosophically a little different from me. I think he was maybe less enthusiastic about going, but he was still quite enthusiastic,” Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago. – Politico

This is Trump’s second and last term. A conflict designed to protect the Iranian Theocracy from it’s own populace is going to be unpopular; it’s designed to fail. To keep Vance, and therefore the man gods, in play for 2028 he has to oppose Trump and this has to be made public. Vance’s opposition could have been kept from the public eye.

Mike Pence, Trump’s vice president during his first term, was a loyal Trump supporter. However, prior to the January 6 invasion of the White House, Pence refused to nullify the election results. This was again made very public. Trump was not expected to be capable of winning another run for the presidency. The problem was they had built a cult of loyalty around him. Pence could have been the next leader of MAGA. The rioters demonized Pence to such a degree it was understood he could not take that role.
