The Suicide of Philip Haney

Philip Haney was a Department of Homeland Security official who was let go after he blew the whistle on the downsizing of the terrorist watch list. He claimed many of the individuals on the list are still dangerous and blames the Obama administration for endangering the US. His book “See Something, Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad” is an expose on his experiences.

On the night of February 20th or early morning of the 21st earlier this year, Haney was found dead of a gunshot wound in his car (Fox News), The death is ruled as suicide. There are suspicions however (World Tribune), he had been in contact with the DHS to possibly get his job back, he was soon to be married and a sequel to his first book was due to be published.

As with many conspiracy theories there is a play to the naivete of the common citizen. As I pointed out in my initial blog post on the subject, the DHS and the NSA are not beholden to any president, past or present. To oversimplify events like these seem to allow for the blame of future acts of terror to be blamed on a liberal administration and deflect attention from the real cancer in our society.
