Tax Time for Donald

Trump tweeted his disdain of the $162,074 that Barrack Obama paid in taxes on an income of $789,674 for the year of 2011.

@BarackObama who wants to raise all our taxes, only pays 20.5% on $790k salary. http://t.co/bqF26mQf Do as I say not as I do.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 13, 2012

Now we know Trump paid $0.00 in taxes that same year. His income was closer to $1.4M. Hmmm.

According to Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance, Trump could face criminal charges (CNBC). “The New York Times reported that Appellant engaged in ‘dubious tax schemes during the 1990s, including instances of outright fraud'” according to a subpoena filed to investigate his finances. I’m sure any charges wouldn’t be filed until a time when he is no longer the president.

Anne Coultier, right wing propagandist, commented on the affair. She took issue with Republicans who think it was “smart” of Trump to figure out a way to avoid paying taxes and his share of societal burden (International Business Times). It irks me to admit she’s right.

He has personal debts amounting to $421M. That’s right $421M. We don’t know who holds that debt. With the president and his advisors ties to Russia and Vlad Putin, national security may be an issue. This is more important than a stupid tweet from eight years ago. Here is an op-ed from the Boston Globe.

Our nation has been deceived. Presidents, and most politicians, are expected to make their tax information public. The Supreme Court recently ruled against Trump and his effort to with hold that information. What about the NSA and Dept of Homeland Security? Trump is privy to Top Secret information. Anyone getting a clearance must disclose their personal finances to limit risk of foreign operatives gaining leverage with funds. Did anyone check Trumps finances? I can’t imagine the spooks didn’t know exactly the financial situation our current president was in.
