The history of Palestinian violence against Israel and Jews dates back to the 1920 Nebi Musa Riots. There have been wars, terrorist attacks and the slaughter of civilians.
During the period between 1987 and 1993 A total of 160 Israelis and 2,162 Palestinians were killed, including 1,000 Palestinians killed by other Palestinians under the accusation of being collaborators. In 1993 the Oslo Accords, a peace agreement, were signed. This established the Palestinian Authority
According to B’Tselem, as of July 10, 2005, over 400 members of the Israeli Security forces, and 821 Israeli civilians have been killed by Palestinians since the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993, 553 of whom were killed within the 1949 Armistice lines, mainly by suicide bombings. With help from Iran the new main player in the Gaza Strip, Hamas, has assembled an assortment of rockets and other weaponry. It regularly launches rocket attacks at Israeli towns and began putting their rockets in or near schools. IDF forces then targeted the launchers and Hamas used the death toll as a propaganda tool according to UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon (Wikipedia)
Remember Phil’s story about the children during the Watts Riots who’s parents encouraged them to antagonize him. Looks like he took it as a lesson.
Palestinian researcher Dr. Khaled Al-Hroub has criticized what he called the “Taliban-like steps” Hamas has taken. He wrote, “The Islamization that has been forced upon the Gaza Strip–the suppression of social, cultural, and press freedoms that do not suit Hamas’s view[s]–is an egregious deed that must be opposed. It is the reenactment, under a religious guise, of the experience of [other] totalitarian regimes and dictatorships.
Suicide bombers are chosen from the youth or from people opposed to Islamic extremism. The first female bomber was Wafa Idris, a 28-year-old paramedic and a supporter of secularist parties. See “Child Suicide Bombers.” (Wikipedia).
Hamas recruits child soldiers (Business Insider) and trains them in summer camps (Observer). On the left is the Death Chart of Barthelemy Boganda (4 April 1910 – 29 March 1959). Boganda was adopted by Catholic Priests in the French Equitorial Africa. He was ordained as a priest in 1938. He got involved in politics and created Movement for the Social Evolution of Black Africa (MESAN). He was defrocked because he married. Boganda’s work and diplomacy with the French government (including Charles De Gualle) led him to become the first Prime Minister of the Central African Republic. While traveling in 1959 a bomb exploded in his plane. No official blame has been established.
On the right is the birth chart of John Allen Muhammed (December 31, 1960 – November 10, 2009). Muhammed was half of the Highway Shooters along with Lee Boyd Malvo (see Case Study 28). Muhammed served in the Army beginning in 1978. He was stationed in Fort Lewis and Fort Ord. He was honorably discharged in 1994. Muhammed met Malvo and Allah at the Bellingham, WA YMCA. The two modified a car and went on a shooting spree known as the D.C. Sniper Attacks. Muhammed was sentenced to death and was executed by lethal injection in 2009.
