Representative Steve Scalise (R-LA) pulled out of the race for Speaker of the House. He is the House Majority Leader. He feels there are too many hold outs in the Matt Gaetz led “chaos caucus” to win. He said he will not back Representative Jordan, Trump’s choice for Speaker. Is it just me or is the Republican party controlled by Trump? (ABCNews).

Asked if he would throw his support behind Jordan, Scalise said, “It’s got to be people that aren’t doing it for themselves and their own personal interest.”

This means the House is out to lunch for another day, and working on it’s second week. The GOP is messed up. Maybe the Dems could make a deal to support a GOP nominee that will work for the people instead of for Trump – and we can get back to business.

There’s some very important things going on in the world. Hamas staged a terror attack that kicked off IDF airstrikes and possibly another occupation. Ukraine forces are moving armor to exploit it’s breach in Russian defensive lines. The same offensive that detractors said couldn’t happen. They used this as an argument to cut off funding for Ukraine. The timing is weird on these things isn’t it. I bet ole Vlad Putin and his gods are loving this.
