Russian forces have been attacking civilian targets. 118 Ukraine towns have been bombarded in the last 24 hours (Independent). It is believed these attacks are retribution for Ukraine strikes in Crimean port infrastructure used to support the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The Russians are trying to discourage attacks on their fleet.
Of course this is nothing new. The war in Ukraine has seen Russians intentionally attack civilian targets for almost 21 months. Russians have attacked critical civilian infrastructure and even nuclear power plants; dangerous targets for everyone involved. Russian forces have attacked homes, apartment buildings, hospitals and non military infrastructure (CNN). Russia has used this tactic in the past to “break the will” of the nation they fight against (VOA).
Russian forces have been accused of extrajudicial killings of civilians in towns they have occupied (Amnesty.org). The United States formally declared on February 19th 2023, a year after the Russian invasion, that Russia committed crimes against humanity (BBC).
Does Vlad Putin worry about the accusations from the West of his forces atrocities? Not at all. He knows he and his generals will never be in court for these blatant acts against civilians. There is and has been no public outcry against these crimes. Vlad doesn’t give it a second thought.
Accusations against Israel for war crimes that have not yet been investigated have been levied with almost religious fervor. Large populations have come unglued at the assault on North Gaza with protests and even calls for violence against Jews worldwide.
Each one of these accusations have been offered explanations by the IDF. One example is the fuel shortage in Gaza caused by the bombardment. If you notice the hospitals where interviewers are filming have all their lights on, and modern equipment.

These are photos of fuel tanks owned by Hamas in the Gaza strip believed to have half a million liters of gas in them (Times of Israel). The IDF fears fuel allowed into Gaza will be commandeered by Hamas and used to fuel their mobile rocket launching vehicles. Either way the IDF has not targeted the Hamas tank farm.

These are Hamas military trucks with rocket launching systems on them the evil and oppressive blockade of Gaza couldn’t keep out.
The October 7th terrorist attack by Hamas zombies killed about 1,500 civilians. They returned to Gaza with over 200 hostages from different nations. They proceeded to rape women and behead them. There was such widespread denial over these accusations Israel decided to show footage from Hamas cellphones to members of the press (The Guardian). You can find links to the reporters’ articles who went to the viewings HERE. The Times of India has released this video of a family being held hostage when one of their daughters was executed by Hamas.
Yale University went so far as to censor an article about Hamas atrocities (NY Post).
The featured image, top of the page, is Shani Louk; a 23 year old German tattoo artist. She was raped and her legs were broken. She was then beheaded by Hamas terrorists who live streamed it on their phones.
In conclusion; No outcry over Russian blatant attacks against civilians. No outcry and even complete denial of Hamas blatant attacks against civilians. Tons of outcry over perceived attacks against civilian by the IDF.
