“Americans will always do the right thing, only after they have tried everything else.” -probably Winston Churchill
Let’s hope this holds true today
The death of Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny has thrust the Russia Ukraine War back into focus (CNN). It’s about time. In true tyrannical fashion Vladimir Putin‘s government has arrested hundreds of Nalvany supporters gathering to mourn their loss (ABC).
It has become painfully obvious Matt Gaetz appointed Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has been using the border issue to stall aid for Ukraine’s freedom fighters. They failed to pass a stand alone assistance bill for aid (Forbes). Now Johnson is trying to delay a vote on the appropriation with the encouragement of Donald Trump.
Meanwhile Putin’s glorious forces have been able to press Ukraine to withdraw from the town of Adviika. This was not accomplished through tactical brilliance or heroic effort; Ukraine’s forces have simply run out of ammunition (Reuters).
Navalny’s family has thus far been unable to gain access to his body. The Russians don’t want a prompt forensic study is the assumption. Today The Independent is reporting a Russian paramedic, who saw the body in a morgue, said the body was covered with bruises.
A dragon once told me through a intermediary, “the seven heads of the hydra are the nations of NATO.” I didn’t have the heart to tell him there are 31 members. The giants of Mordor delegate to their handlers and those they handle obey.
