Covenant

Genesis 17:10 (Yhwh speaking to Abraham) This is My covenant, which you shall observe between Me and between you and between your seed after you, that every male among you be circumcised 11 And you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be as the sign of a covenant between Me and between you. 12 And at the age of eight days, every male shall be circumcised to you throughout your generations, one that is born in the house, or one that is purchased with money, from any foreigner, who is not of your seed.

23 And Abraham took Ishmael his son and all those born in his house and all those purchased with his money, every male of the people of Abraham’s household, and he circumcised the flesh of their foreskin on that very day, as God had spoken with him.

Exodus 4:24 Now he was on the way, in an inn, that Yhwh met him (Moses) and sought to put him to death. 25 So Zipporah (wife of Moses) took a sharp stone and severed her son’s foreskin and cast it to his feet, and she said, “For you are a bridegroom of blood to me.” 26 So (Yhwh) released him. Then she said, “A bridegroom of blood concerning the circumcision.”

The rabbinical translation of this story is that Moses refused to circumcise his son. Zipporah saved Moses’ life by complying with Yhwh’s wishes.

The stories show the difference between Abraham and Moses by highlighting their relationships with Yhwh.

Circumcision was not popular in the Anglophone Christian societies. Negative evaluation of circumcision as an unnecessary or culturally-bound practice was the norm for much of the 19th century. On circumcision in the Encyclopædia Britannica, the ninth edition published in 1876, discusses the practice as a religious rite among Jews, Muslims, the ancient Egyptians and tribal peoples in various parts of the world. The author of the entry rejected sanitary explanations of the procedure in favor of a religious one: “like other body mutilations … [it is] of the nature of a representative sacrifice” Wikipedia

The first doctor to advocate for the procedure was Johnathan Hutchinson. He published “A Plea for Circumcision in the British Medical Journal (1890), where he contended that the foreskin ‘… constitutes a harbour for filth, and is a constant source of irritation. It conduces to masturbation, and adds to the difficulties of sexual continence. It increases the risk of syphilis in early life, and of cancer in the aged.'” – Wikipedia

Children can be taught to clean themselves.

Eventually circumcision won out. Estimates of infant circumcision rates in the United States holds that 30% of newborn American boys were being circumcised in 1900, 55% in 1925, 72% in 1950, 85% in 1975 and 60% in 2000. CDC

The truth; circumcision is a method of mind control. It is a painful traumatic event designed to create a memory block. Accessing pre-life memories is more difficult because of this trauma.

Genesis 3:22 Now the Yhwh of the Gods ( יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֗ים ) said, “Behold man has become like one of us, having the ability of knowing good and evil, and now, lest he stretch forth his hand and take also from the Tree of Life and eat and live forever.”
