If we pay attention to the words spoken, the debate between President Joe Biden and wannabe president for life Donald Trump was a resounding win for Biden. As usual Donald Trump made false statements and claims. Biden’s rebuttals were on point.
If we pay attention to the way words were spoken, people claim Biden lost the debate. He is older and stumbled over a few words. Did he fall asleep? No. (USAToday). I watched the entire debate and I think the claims of his poor performance were hyped up. On July 3 he gave another speech; an awards ceremony for Medal of Honor recipients. He sounded just fine (MSNBC on YouTube).
Why all the hype? The dragon on the right sounds off that Biden isn’t fit and dragon on the left starts sounding off, in a feigned panic, that he must be replaced. Some bought it and began to really panic. This whole spectacle has done wonders to distract us from the falsehoods spouted by Trump during the debate. Now some wealthy donors have publicly called for him to step aside. I wonder why that is.
“President Joe Biden on March 11 sent Congress a fiscal year (FY) 2025 budget that proposes to increase taxes by nearly $5 trillion for corporations and for individuals with incomes above $400,000. Many of the president’s tax proposals — including a proposal to increase the corporate tax rate to 28% and impose a 25% minimum tax on certain high-income individuals – were included in President Biden’s previous budgets.” (PWC.com)
If $5 trillion more had been collected from big businesses and wealthy individuals over each of the past 4 decades we might not have a national debt. Something worth considering.
Biden is in good health for a man his age. Trump is only 3 years younger. The very worst possible outcome of a Biden re election would be him passing away or needing to resign. The result would be Kamala Harris as president. I don’t think most of us have a problem with that. Harris would have the same competent advisors.
There is no good reason to pull support from a president with a track record like Joe Biden’s. He’s in the process of bringing manufacturing back to the United States, the economy is rocking ( a little too much actually) and the other issues our nations faces are being addressed. Biden puts effort into solving problems. not just talking about them as his predecessor did.
