US President again Donald Trump has decided to oust prosecutors of the US attorney’s office who investigated Jan 6 protestors. His office has requested a list of all FBI agents involved to be turned over to the Department of Justice. Presumably they will lose their jobs.

This is ridiculous. Law enforcement officers and prosecuting attorneys are required to investigate, apprehend and prosecute people who violate the law. People who broke into government buildings, assaulted law enforcement officers and destroyed property violated the law.

The office of president should not have the power to fire officers based on personal political prejudices who have done their duty as required of them. Our nation is supposed to be designed in such a way that one man’s personal vendettas and whims are not executed as if we had a King. Isn’t that why we revolted against the British?
