Attorney General Pam Bondi was a no show for the CPAC’s Summit Against Human Trafficking in Washington. A message was read on her behalf apologizing and attributing her absence on a torn cornea. He failure to appear has fueled theories she’s avoiding the public because of the Jeffrey Epstein turmoil (Atlanta Black Star).
MAGA backers and democrats have been calling for a release of the names associated with Epstein and the young girls he kept around for parties. Bondi and Trump have promised to release all the details multiple times. However, Bondi reportedly informed Trump that his name appears in the documents back in May (USA Today).
The House GOP leadership is apparently unhappy with Bondi’s handling of the situation (Politico). The GOP tried to make the situation disappear by claiming they were wrong about Trump’s previous claims. They claimed Epstein killed himself and there was no files containing an Epstein client list. This has caused a backlash from democrats and MAGA supporters alike.
Rising fury among House Republicans has guaranteed that the saga will outlast a sleepy August recess, with committees approving two bipartisan subpoenas: one for the entire Epstein case file, the other for a deposition with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s co-conspirator who is serving a 20-year-prison sentence for the sex trafficking conspiracy. The proceedings stemming from those demands will play out for weeks. Politico
The anticipation is killing me… let’s see that client list!
