TIFF Changes it’s Mind

In August the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) told the publishers of “The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue,” a film about the Hamas October 7 attacks, their film wouldn’t be viewed. The reason; they didn’t have permission from Hamas for the phone video taken during the attack that was used in the movie (NY Post). The phone videos were taken by young boys who went with the attackers.

There was an uproar over their refusal, enough they changed their minds. On August 14 TIFF announced a reversal. “In this case, TIFF’s communication around its requirements did not clearly articulate the concerns and roadblocks that arose and for that, we are sorry.” AP News

“The Road Between Us” tells the story of retired Israel Defense Forces Gen. Noam Tibon, who set out to save his family and others during Hamas’ deadly attack, in which 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken hostage. It includes widely seen videos taken by the terrorists of their murders of Israelis at the Nova music festival and in nearby communities.
