The Truth about Ukraine’s Fascists

One of Russian President for Life Vlad Putin‘s excuses for the invasion of Ukraine is his claim that Ukraine is full of white supremacist nationalists. The truth is Ukraine support for far right politicians has rarely exceeded 3%.

During Ukraine’s post-Soviet history, the far-right has remained on the political periphery and been largely excluded from national politics since independence in 1991. Unlike most Eastern European countries which saw far-right groups become permanent fixtures in their countries’ politics during the decline and the Dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, the national electoral support for far-right parties in Ukraine only rarely exceeded 3% of the popular vote. Far-right parties usually enjoyed just a few wins in single-mandate districts, and no far right candidate for president has ever secured more than 5 percent of the popular vote in an election. Only once in the 1994–2014 period was a radical right-wing party elected to the parliament as an independent organization within the proportional part of the voting: Svoboda in 2012. Since then far-right parties have failed to gain enough votes to attain political representation, even at the height of nationalist sentiment during and after Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the Russo-Ukrainian WarWikipedia

Further, Vlad’s propaganda and lies has diverted the press from the fact the real far right nationalists are pro-Russian separatists. This is typical of fascist rhetoric; lies are completely acceptable to them as a way to gain power and promote agendas.

The far-right was heavily represented among the pro-Russian separatists with several past or current leaders of the republics of Donetsk and Luhansk linked to various neo-Nazi, white supremacist and ultra-nationalist groups. The importance of the far-right on both sides of the conflict declined over time. In the 2019 Ukrainian parliamentary election, the coalition of Svoboda and the other extreme-right political parties in UkraineNational Corps, the Governmental Initiative of Yarosh, and the Right Sectorwon only 2.15% of the vote combined and failed to pass the 5% threshold. As a result, no party was able to win a proportional seat. One party – the Svoboda party – was able to secure a single constituency seat. Wikipedia

Right wingers in the US regurgitate Russia’s government owned Tass News Agency bs. Even right wingers who are white supremacists and anti – Semites do this. An example is The Base (Wikipedia), a white supremacist organization originally out of Washington State. The Base has called for terrorist attacks against Ukraine (4dforum).

Their leader Rinaldo Nazzaro is a former FBI and Pentagon employee. He now resides in Russia. It’s another example of the far right’s lack of a moral compass; a white supremacist group repeating Russian excuses that invading Ukraine was to get rid of white supremacists.

We have a problem with white supremacists in the United States too; should we invite Vlad to invade?

Did you know? Adolf Hitler stayed in the German Army after WWI attaining the rank of sergeant. He worked in the German Army intelligence corps. It was during this time he joined the German Workers Party (DAP) on a mission to find out what the organization was all about. He took it over, changed the name to the National Socialist German Workers Party or NSDAP – commonly known as the NAZI party. (Wikipedia)

Don’t let the lying fascist sky daddies con you; and don’t believe everything they think. Their agenda is to make the world safe for authoritarianism. Let’s support Ukraine despite Donald Trump‘s attempts to cut them off.
