The DHS budget has not been passed yet. TSA employees aren’t getting paid. One would think the TSA employees would fall under the category of “essential personnel,” but what do I know? The republicans have been using them as leverage to get the democrats to cave on the funding of ICE. If some terrorist thing happened they’d blame democrats for that as well.

ICE agents have been shooting unarmed civilians, detaining anyone they want and shipping them off to other countries that aren’t necessarily their home countries. The video of the shooting of Renee Good by ICE agent Johnathan Ross ignited protests and political debate over these unhinged racist goons.

Senate Democrats sent over their latest proposal for immigration enforcement changes at the Department of Homeland Security as a shutdown of the vast department drags into its second month. Politico

The 2025 ICE budget was around $73B. That is up from about $11.8B the prior year (Statista). During the Obama administration ICE deported more actual criminals (500K) than the Trump administration has. They did it without shooting a lot of people or parading in the streets like brown shirts causing a political backlash. The ICE budget during Obama’s tenure peaked at $18B in 2012.

Let’s put this in perspective. The US Navy commissioned the construction of 4 amphibious assault ships like the USS Boxer for $11.5B (ZonaMilitar). What the hell do Donald Trump and his man gods want a $73B ICE budget for? Obviously not officer carried cameras.

They are building detention centers all over the US. The money is going to build a huge system of prison camps. Are they really necessary? How do we know what these buildings are intended to be the final solution for?
