Genesis 3:22 And said Yhwh of the Elohim “Both humans have become like us, having the ability of knowing good and evil, and now, lest he stretch forth his hand and take also from the Tree of Life and eat and live forever.” 23 And Yhwh of the Elohim sent them out of the Garden of Eden, to till the soil, whence he had been taken.
Eternal life, we all have it; but do we remember? That is the knowledge.
Consider the books of I and II Samuel. The prophet Samuel dies in I Samuel.
I Samuel 25:1 And Samuel died, and all Israel gathered, and lamented him, and they buried him in his house in Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the Desert of Paran
Nathan becomes the prophet in II Samuel.
II Samuel 7:2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet; “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the Elohim dwells within the curtains.”
Why is the book called II Samuel if Samuel is dead? Because Nathan is Samuel.
Consider the following verses from Genesis 11 that begin tracing the genealogy from Shem to Abraham.
Genesis 11:10 These are the generations of Shem: Shem was one hundred years old, and he begot Arpachshad, two years after the Flood. 11 And Shem lived after he had begotten Arpachshad five hundred years, and he begot sons and daughters.
Genesis 11:12 And Arpachshad lived thirty five years, and he begot Shelah. 13 And Arpachshad lived after he had begotten Shelah four hundred and three years, and he begot sons and daughters.
Shem didn’t technically live for 600 years, but he did. He lived to be 100 years and had a child Arpachshad 2 years after the flood during that lifetime. He remembered for the next 500 years worth of lifetimes, then forgot. Arpaschshad lived 35 years during which he fathered Shelah. He remembered for 403 years worth of lifetimes after.
