The Hamas Internal Security Chief was captured in Gaza City on Tuesday.
Netanyahu said the man, whom he did not name, was “engaged in attempts to restore Hamas’s governance in Gaza and in deception concerning the demilitarization of the Strip”. BBC
An airstrike was called in to defend the troops when they were discovered. According to the Hamas-run Civil Defence rescue service 4 Palestinian civilians were killed; two children and two women.
Let’s compare a couple of headlines
Israeli special forces capture Hamas official in raid on Gaza City Reuters
IDF strikes Gaza as Hamas official captured in reported raid by Israel-backed militia The Times of Israel
Which of these two headlines is true; was the capture operation conducted by the Israeli Special Forces or was it a Palestinian militia?
Both are true. Special Forces act as advisors and liaison between allied forces and their own military. They would have called in the strikes to cover the militias troops conducting the raid. It’s all in how the story is told.
Why would Western press be so intent on burying the fact there are Palestinians in Gaza opposed to Hamas? A right winger might be inclined to say all Palestinians are partially to blame for Hamas’ terrorist actions. A left winger may be inclined to believe all Palestinians support the righteous Hamas revolutionaries.
