The illegal cult of Christianity rose to prominence in the Roman Empire. The human gods, emperors and royalty of Rome, didn’t like the competition. Persecutions of Christians occurred through the 3rd Century. After this time Christians were tolerated.

The emperor Aurelian revived the semi monotheistic cult of Sol Invictus in 274 AD. This became the predominate form of worship. There’s a story and an explanation for all their moves, but obviously the pressure on the pagans was increasing.

Their replacement leader was former president Donald Trump. He pursued the same deregulation policies (NBC).
