Why’d he do it? Why did Thomas Crooks attempt to assassinate Donald Trump? We can only speculate about what was going on in his mind. Conspiracy theorists have said he missed on purpose. BS. The bullet almost killed Trump; a couple of centimeters to the right and the round would have gone through his eye. The kid had buck fever; a cop who climbed up to check him out on the roof rattled his nerves.
We know he did searches for both Donald Trump and Joe Biden on his phone. According to a classmate, Crooks was definitely a conservative and always took the conservative side in debates (BBC). Trump softened his stance against abortion and same sex marriage (NBCNews). Trump also altered his stance against financing Ukraine’s fight for independence against his buddy Vlad Putin (CFR.org).
To speculate, maybe he was angry with Trump for moving his platform to the left in an attempt win votes. Knowing Trump says one thing and does another it’s hard to say what he would actually do if elected. But quite possibly that was what was in Crooks’ mind.
The real question is; what did Crooks’ handler from Mordor have in mind. Obviously what he put into Crooks’ mind isn’t necessarily what was in his mind. The giants feel Trump’s time is up and they’d prefer a different person, maybe Vance, to be their guy for president. The giants want to relocate Trump to the next assignment; they’re getting old. The relocations have begun.
This man was Johannes Cornelis Princen (21 November 1925 – 2 February 2002), commonly known as Poncke Princen. Princen was a Dutch resistance fighter in the struggle against the Nazi occupation. He was arrested in 1943 while attempting to escape to England to join the free forces and spent time in 7 different prisoner camps. He was liberated by the allies in 1945.
He then joined the Dutch investigative service (Bureau voor Nationale Veiligheid) hunting down Nazi war criminals and sympathizers. After a year he was called up to serve in the Royal Netherlands Army to be deployed to Indonesia to quell the Indonesian National Revolution.
Loathe to take part in this colonial action he deserted to France. Upon his return he was arrested and sent to Indonesia anyway. There he deserted again and was imprisoned. In 1948, while the Netherlands Army attempted to capture major republican cities, the rebels released Princen from the jail and he joined their ranks.
After the Dutch withdrew from Indonesia they demanded Princen be remanded to their custody. Suharto refused and the Netherlands sentenced Princen to death in absentia. He decided to remain in Indonesia.
Princen became a member of the newly formed Indonesian parliament. He was critical of Sukarno’s policies and the rising disparity of wealth between the rural people and the elite of the new society. He was jailed from 1957-58 and again from 1962-66.
Suharto’s forces ousted Sukarno and in 1966 Princen was released from prison. Soon he began to become critical of Suharto’s regime. Suharto’s Kopkamtib and The BAKIN suppressed domestic dissent in ruthless fashion. In 1974 Japanese Prime Minister Tanaka Kakuei visited Indonesia. Mass protests erupted against the perceived exploitation of Indonesian resources and labor by the Japanese. Among them was Poncke Princen. He was arrested and jailed from 1974 until 1976.
He later became a labor union organizer and in 1994 testified to the UN Commission on Human Rights about the use of torture by Indonesian forces against people in East Timor and Aceh.
Princen died of a stroke in February of 2002.
Thomas Matthew Crooks (September 20, 2003 – July 13, 2024) was the young man who attempted to assassinate former US president Donald Trump on July 13, 2024. He fired 6 shots, killing one bystander and wounding three others. Trump was grazed above his right ear. Crooks was then shot and killed by a Secret Service sniper.
Prior to this incident Crooks searched for images and public appearances of Trump, President Joe Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher A. Wray, and Catherine, Princess of Wales. The FBI stated they haven’t as of this writing found a motive or political affiliation in their investigation of Crooks. Crooks was a member of a local shooting club.
