Hebrew is a Northwest Semitic language within the Afroasiatic language family. A regional dialect of the Canaanite languages, it was natively spoken by the Israelites and remained in regular use as a first language until after 200 CE and as the liturgical language of Judaism (since the Second Temple period) and Samaritanism.
The language was revived as a spoken language in the 19th century, and is the only successful large-scale example of linguistic revival. It is the only Canaanite language, as well as one of only two Northwest Semitic languages, with the other being Aramaic, still spoken today
In the early 6th century BCE, the Neo-Babylonian Empire conquered the ancient Kingdom of Judah, destroying much of Jerusalem and exiling its population far to the east in Babylon. During the Babylonian captivity, many Israelites learned Aramaic, the closely related Semitic language of their captors. Thus, for a significant period, the Jewish elite became influenced by Aramaic Wikipedia
Genesis 1:26 And God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and they shall rule over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heaven and over the animals and over all the earth and over all the creeping things that creep upon the earth.”
And said Elohim we’ll (make) Adam in our image…
The world Elohim is plural divinity; gods.
Genesis 1:3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. In Hebrew the word is again Elohim ( אֱלֹהִ֖ים) or gods. They claimed to have done these things.
This actually makes sense in the book of Genesis as Moses didn’t adopt monotheism until Exodus. The distinction doesn’t stop in that book however. Yhwh was a Canaanite god (Wikipedia) among a pantheon of them.
Genesis 12:1 And Yhwh said to Abram, “Go forth from your land and from your birthplace and from your father’s house, to the land that I will show you… 5 And Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had acquired, and the souls they had acquired in Haran, and they went to go to the land of Canaan, and they came to the land of Canaan
According to the Tanakh, the reason Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden wasn’t for eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Genesis 3:23 Now the Yhwh (of) Elohim said, “Behold man has become like one of us, having the ability of knowing good and evil, and now, lest he stretch forth his hand and take also from the Tree of Life and eat and live forever.”
It was because Adam and Eve might live forever. What does that mean exactly? The body dies the soul lives on, technically we live forever anyway. To remember is to truly live forever; to not have our conscious erased through rape, murder, and torture. See Where Did the Warriors Go?
II Kings 17:25 And it was in the beginning of their dwelling there, that they did not fear Yhwh, and Yhwh incited lions against them, and they were killing them.
Did you know? Hitler, Himmler and Goering committed suicide with cyanide capsules, painless.
Exodus 15:3 יְהֹוָ֖ה אִ֣ישׁ מִלְחָמָ֑ה יְהֹוָ֖ה שְׁמֽוֹ literally; Yhwh man war Yhwh name; Yhwh is a man of war Yhwh is his name
Genesis 17:10 This is My covenant, which you shall observe between Me and between you and between your seed after you, that every male among you be circumcised.
So it would seem their story was written in a way to hide something. Of course if you were afraid of your god or gods, you might do just that.
Exodus 20:16 They said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear, but let Yhwh not speak with us lest we die.” 17 But Moses said to the people, “Fear not, for Yhwh has come in order to exalt you, and in order that His awe shall be upon your faces, so that you shall not sin.” 18 The people remained far off, but Moses drew near to the opaque darkness, where Yhwh was
The Tanakh was transplanted into the Christian Bible by Romans. This makes sense because Jesus was a Jew who was laying a philosophical framework based on it.
1 Samuel 5:6 And the hand of Yhwh became heavy upon the Ashdodites, and He ravaged them, and He smote them with hemorrhoids, Ashdod and its borders. Tanakh (Compare to the KJV and Catholic Bibles)
