On Friday 14 November 2025 Iran seized the Talara that was traveling from Ajman, United Arab Emirates, to Singapore on it’s way through the Straits of Hormuz. The Greek owned ship flagged by the Marshal Islands was carrying petrochemicals.

The Ayatollah Khameini‘s regime has a track record of seizing ships when there are other political events going on. The seizure of the Hanuk Chemi a few days after the recording of Donald Trump stating to Georgia’s secretary of state Brad Raffensperger “I just want to find 11,780 votes” was posted by the Washington Post.

Another example is the seizure of the MSC Aries on 13 April 2024. This occurred on the same day Iran launched a 300 drone attack on Israel (Wikipedia). The reason given for the attack was the bombing of the Iranian embassy in Damascus on 2 April. However, on 10 April US president Joe Biden and Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida reached a defense agreement to counter aggression by Xi Jinpeng‘s Chinese navy against Taiwan (NBC News). Hate for good ole Joe to look tough with the elections coming up.
