Taiwan’s Troubles With Xi

President for Life of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jinping adventurous military exercises encircling Taiwan are causing concern (Xi abolished term limits for his post in 2018). The maneuvers are reminiscent of the Russian Federation’s military near Ukraine 4 months ago. President for life Vlad Putin was behind that trick to stage forces for a full scale invasion. It’s as if they have the same god directing their actions. Putin is a chump.

Taiwan, officially the Republic of China (ROC), is recognized by 13 UN members and the Vatican. The United States is not one of them. In 1971 the UN voted to recognize the PRC as the sole representative of China. That was a year before Tricky Dick’s (Pres Nixon) trip to the PRC to make them Most Favored Nation. That was in 72 while the Vietnam Conflict, and the PRC’s funding of the Vietcong, was ongoing.

A cult of personality has developed around Xi since he became the Communist Party Chairman. “In 2017, the local government of the Jiangxi province told Christians to replace their pictures of Jesus with Xi Jinping” (Wikipedia). The man’s ego has been continuously inflated from being surrounded by songs and art dedicated to him. His political philosophy, called “Xi Jinpeng Thought,” has been enshrined into the Communist Party constitution.

On the topic of Taiwan, Xi’s rhetoric as become increasingly forceful. It is apparent he plans to “reunify” China at some point.

In January 2019, Xi Jinping called on Taiwan to reject its formal independence from China, saying: ‘We make no promise to renounce the use of force and reserve the option of taking all necessary means.‘” Wikipedia

It is a shame the US doesn’t recognize the Republic of China as a separate and sovereign nation. Too many nations have been cowing to the dictates of the largest dystopian regime in the world. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the island nation is long overdue show of support. We can see from China’s annexations of Hong Kong and Tibet, and the operation of the Uyghur re education camps in Xinjiang Province it is time to stand up to Xi.

Did you know, Winnie the Pooh is banned in the PRC (BBC).
