Russian attacks on Ukraine’s civilians and infrastructure have been consistent and incessant. Russian forces have used rockets on cafes, apartments, restaurants and schools. These buildings were not being used by Ukraine as military staging locations or for weapons storage (Reuters).
January temperatures in Ukraine average around 26 F. With winter approaching, Russia has begun attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure as they did last winter (Reuters). Their stated effort is to break the will of Ukraine to resist Russian takeover.
During the autumn and winter of 2022–2023, Russia launched waves of missile and drone strikes against energy infrastructure as part of its invasion of Ukraine. The strikes targeted civilian areas beyond the battlefield, particularly critical power infrastructure (Wikipedia).
It is estimated Russian forces have abducted 700,000 Ukraine children. The young have been subjected to “Russification” classes in an effort to destroy their ethnic identity (Radio Free Europe).
Why does Vlad Putin blatantly carry out these attacks? He knows he will never be held accountable for them. He isn’t under constant international scrutiny. He could care less about the conduct of his military. Some people fear him subconsciously, seeing his indifference as power. Their reaction is to admire him, and possibly side with him.
The same fascist giants that encouraged the US to invade Iraq hoping to hand power of the country to Iran, want the US to stop funding Ukraine. They have to sell it with a different member of their crew of course.
The credibility necessary for the US to deter future acts of aggression hinges on our continued support of Ukraine. The world’s tyrants are watching.
