We were discussing the story of Abraham, Lot and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. We can see that Yhwh and Abraham set up Sodom (this post and this post) as an excuse to destroy the place; probably using archers of their puppet Pharaoh’s army (Genesis 12: 13-20) to burn the place down. We also discussed there were two Lots (this post); one who left with Lot’s wife and daughters and another who died in Sodom.
Genesis 19:22 Hasten, flee there, for I will not be able to do anything until you arrive there.” Therefore, he named the city Zoar.
Genesis 19:29 And it came to pass, when the gods (elohim) destroyed the cities of the plain, that the gods (elohim) remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the destruction when overturned the cities in which Lot had dwelt.
Genesis 19:30 And Lot went up from Zoar, and he dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters were with him, for he was afraid to dwell in Zoar; so he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters
The other Lot had sex with the real Lot’s daughters at their behest. Lot’s wife was turned to a pillar of salt. It’s the same fake Lot that was willing to let the daughters be raped by the men who surrounded the house in verse 8. The real Lot, now deceased, would be the one to bear the blame, his legacy destroyed.
Prior to departing to destroy the two cities, Yhwh informed Abraham…
Genesis 18:10 And he (Yhwh) said, “I will surely return to you at this time next year, and behold, your wife Sarah will have a son.” And Sarah heard from the entrance of the tent, and it was behind him.
The intent was to have Lot killed and replace him so no one would know; using his wife and daughters to convince outside observers. Then Lot would become Abraham’s son, his soul placed there. This is how they keep disagreeable one’s under control.
Genesis 21:1 And Yhwh remembered Sarah as He had said, and Yhwh did to Sarah as He had spoken. 2 And Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the time of which God had spoken to him. 3 And Abraham named his son who had been born to him, whom Sarah had borne to him, Isaac.
