After installing the Ayatollah Khomeini with unwitting help from President Carter and the French government Phil and Co ran into a slight difficulty. The Reagan administration wanted to know why the giants had done such a thing. Phil thought fast, “because it can be useful.”
The Boland Amendment was a Congressional prohibition of funding for the Contras. The Contras were right wing paramilitary groups opposed to the Marxist Sandinistas in Nicaragua. They had been accused of various human rights abuses and terrorist actions. To bypass the sanctions placed by Congress Phil and Co suggested selling arms to Iran and giving the money to the Contras. Phil was a giant who everyone thought was a right winger and Erwin Rommel. What could go wrong? He isn’t either.
What went wrong was Mehdi Hashemi, a senior official in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Islamic Cleric. It seems an angel of Allah<< came over him and inspired him to spill the beans to a Lebanese magazine that published the story and blew the lid off what became known as the Iran-Contra Scandal. Hashemi was later executed by the Iranian government. It seems the Ayatollah didn’t know his handlers were the same ones that got Hashemi to reveal the affair. Phil and Co won the admiration of some on the left. They also won the admiration of some on the right who were too stupid to get the joke.
Tricky right?
After attempts to start a race war in the US (details here and here) Phil and Co and the giants of Mordor declared the purpose was to save the planet from depopulation. This was, of course, bullshit. What they were trying to do was create a chaotic situation from which they could lift one of their puppets to the position of dictator. Presiding over a country with the force of martial law because of the conflagration or by force of those who would take over. By blaming it on environmentalists Phil and Co won the admiration of the right. They also won the admiration of some on the left who were just too stupid to get the joke.

They giants don’t think like most people do. They know they are going to reincarnate, relearn their skills and play god. They are tyrants who don’t believe in democracy. They don’t believe in the politics of either party. They take on roles and perform an act as if they do. Smearing crap on the faces of either or both parties is smearing crap on the flag. They are trying to destroy the US.
