If we have been interpreting this incorrectly, and Yhwh isn’t God then who is? God is supposed to be the unknowable creator of the universe; it is doubtful he walks around on Earth proclaiming he is God. We can see that someone has been however.
The fascist giants of Mordor don’t like the Jews because of their religious writings (see this post). It shows that some of them were telling people they were “God,” and Satan for that matter. In fact they would love to make religions illegal because hidden in them is truth.

Giants don’t like the Kurds, or rather the Yazidis, for the same reason. The “gumby brains” follow suit.

It is followed by the mainly Kurdish-speaking Yazidis” (Wikipedia). Some people believe Yazidis and Kurds are the same group, however most Kurds are Muslims.
Yazidi religion finds it’s roots in pre-Zoroastrian, Indo-Aryan monotheism. No one is sure how old their religion is. The Yazidis believe in the rebirth of the soul.
In the Yazidi creation story God created the first man, Adam, and ordered the 7 angels to worship him. One, Tewus Malek, refused; proclaiming he would worship no one but God. In Yazidism this is the highest good and proves Tewus Malek’s purest devotion to God. The event is described as a test the other “angels” failed.
This contrasts the Islamic creation story; God orders the angels to worship Adam. The one angel who refused was punished for disobedience and became Satan.
To play two sides against the middle, or chess against themselves, they created, or took over, monotheistic and polytheistic religions.
